If you can’t be still, you’ll just burn out, so listen up! 

 

Thinking of #Fitspiration? It’s a task, we get it, but then, there are always two sides of a coin: rest and exercise. They’re like the yin and yang that could give great results to your bod and mind when they get hitched!

So, what we’re trying to tell you here is that if you don’t take rest days, you risk falling short of your #fitnessgoals and hurting yourself from overtraining. Most people feel all pepped-up about cutting no slack for their bodies, but we give it a big thumbs down! For you too to get a hang of why rest and exercise are inseparable, read up!

What’s difficult at first becomes second nature with enough attention and practice. As your body adapts to the (good) controlled stress of a workout, it becomes more well-balanced, supple, coordinated and strong. You’ll feel great! Your performance won’t dip if you rest for a while. So, hit your sack when your bod needs it!

 

Slow vs Fast?

You’ll need to gradually increase the level of stress (e.g. heavier weights, longer distances) to hit new limits. Here’s where things can get tricky: being too conservative leads to little benefit. But going all out is equally strenuous bro! Too much, too fast, risks injury or long-term damage; you get the drift now?

 

Pump it up after a resting period

As you push your body beyond its current limits, you change it, such as by causing micro-tears in muscle tissue. At rest, the body adapts to the stress by repairing and re-growing it better than before. So, yes, you’ll learn it the hard way, but the truth bomb says exactly that--without rest, the muscle tissue simply breaks down, leading to muscle loss. So, rest and nourish your body well. Immunity is a MAJOR!

We hope you did realise that your muscles and joints are constantly fighting it out, only to be later repaired by your body’s immune system. Without rest, the immune system flat which could lead to an insane injury. Plus, you also become more vulnerable to infections when you over exercise, so rest it out buddy!

 

Log it up, we say!

This depends on the intensity of your workouts, your workout plan, and its duration, among other dynamic factors. Keeping a training log would add to the fun here! You can always revisit it for some much-needed fitspiration. On second thoughts, if you feel all pumped up, your body reacts in a better way! But you still must keep a track of how your body is responding as you work your out to a kickass body.
